TD Bank, Portland, Maine, said it will add 75 full-time positions to its mortgage operations center in Lexington, S.C.
At least 50 jobs will be filled in the coming weeks, the bank said.
The new employees will work in tandem with existing TD Bank mortgage operations centers in Lewiston, Maine, and Mt. Laurel, N.J.
Positions will include mortgage processors, underwriters, closers and operations staff.
Among all home funders nationwide, the bank's residential affiliate, TD Banknorth Mortgage, ranked 35th in the second quarter, originating $807 million.
"Over the past two years, our residential mortgage business has doubled and we expect this growth to continue into 2011," said Michael Copley, retail lending executive vice president, TD Bank. "Despite the tough economic times, TD Bank has consistently provided mortgage loans for purchases and refinance to our customers."
