“There are very few organizations, if any, that have our reach,” Rocket Homes CEO Doug Seabolt said in an interview. “Buying or selling a home is stressful, it can be confusing and I honestly think it’s too complicated. We are always trying to eliminate that.”
ForSaleByOwner.com — which the company bought for $2.5 million in May 2018 — allows sellers to list their properties and field offers without a broker. If they choose to instead leverage Rocket’s network of real estate agents, they will pay commission of 1.5% instead of the traditional 3%. Rocket built its network over the last 15 years and it serves all 50 states, Seabolt said.

“Consumers demand more and more and by providing choice we’re offering what they want. We can do it all from a central location combined with seamless integration with the largest mortgage operation in America,” Seabolt said. “If you smash that all together, it’s that uniqueness to me that will get consumers to come to Rocket.”
