Female millennial mortgage borrowers are far more likely than their male counterparts to be single, according to data from Ellie Mae.
Ellie Mae reported in its Millennial Tracker report for May that 61% of millennial women who were listed as primary borrowers were single versus just 41% of millennial men. Women were the primary borrowers on 32% of loans originated to millennials, keeping in line with data released for March.
The average primary FICO score for female applicants was 723, just below the score for men of 724.
Overall, Ellie Mae found that Federal Housing Administration loans made up 37% of millennial loans, still well above the overall share of 23% for applicants of all ages.
