When it comes to deciding where to retire, what makes one place more attractive than another?
The states in this ranking were rated on a number of factors in the following five categories, with a weighting (in parentheses) assigned to each category: affordability (40%), overall well-being (25%), quality and cost of healthcare (20%), weather (10%) and crime (5%).
Each state was assigned a ranking relative to all 50 states per category, and an overall ranking was determined based on the weightings in the different categories.
