In addition to the initial costs that go into purchasing a home, buyers must prepare for the property taxes, the rates of which can escalate over years of ownership. CoreLogic recently ranked the 15 counties that saw the sharpest increases in property taxes since 2019.
Of these 15 cities, Broward County in Florida had the highest percentage increase from 2019 to 2024, at 56.80%, or a property tax increase of 11.40% year-over-year. Other top counties include Miami-Dade, also in Florida, and San Bernardino, California.
