Realogy's NRT subsidiary completed the most residential real estate transactions in 2015, among all brokerage firms.
NRT, in Madison, N.J., closed 342,300 transactions last year, according to a report by Real Trends, a Castle Rock, Colo., provider of industry data. NRT operates residential real estate brokerages under franchise agreements with Coldwell Banker, Sotheby's International Realty, Corcoran and Zip Realty.
The second-ranked brokerage last year was HomeServices of America, which closed 230,813 transactions. HomeServices, in Minneapolis, is a unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and it operates brokerages under the Berkshire Hathaway brand name.
Long & Foster in Chantilly, Va., was the third-highest brokerage, with 82,259 transactions closed. Hanna Holdings, in Pittsburgh, ranked fourth with 61,677 transactions; Hanna's brokerage uses the Howard Hanna brand name.
